QUINCY Bowman of 426 Eight Street, South Cummings Lodge was yesterday morning found dead with a suspected bullet wound to his head.According to information reaching the Guyana Chronicle, the body was discovered on a bridge linking Festival City and Guyhoc Park at approximately 5.00 hrs yesterday.Persons in the area told this publication that sometime after 04.00 hrs yesterday morning they heard what sounded like two gunshots in the same area Bowman’s body was discovered.
Shortly after when someone was attempting to cross the bridge they discovered the body and raised an alarm.
When police investigators arrived on the scene they found that the man had in his possession his mobile phone and cash which caused them to rule out robbery as the primary motive for his murder.
A visit to the man’s Cummings Lodge residence found that no one was at home at the time. Persons in the area said that the man who resided for a period in French Guiana lives at the apartment building with two other persons.
They said that he was last seen leaving his home early Sunday evening but was not seen again. Other occupants of the six-room apartment building were not aware that the man was killed and only learnt of this when the Guyana Chronicle visited the community.
The Guyana Police Force had earlier issued a press statement about the shooting but had indicated that the identity of the man was unknown.
The police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
