Welder granted bail for forgery

A thirty-eight-year-old welder of Lot 260 Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, was on Friday placed on $50,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a forgery charge. Ramdeo Persaud pleaded not guilty to the charge that said between March 12 and 24 at Georgetown, with intent to defraud, he conspired with person or persons unknown, to forge one Republic of Guyana passport purporting to show that same was issued by the Central Immigration and Passport Office.
He was represented by attorney-at-law Mr. Peter Hugh, who requested reasonable bail.
Persaud was ordered to report to the subordinate officer (SO) at the Criminal Headquarters, Eve Leary, every Friday.
The matter stands adjourned to April 17.
