704 Sports Bar Arm Wrestling preparation heightens … Weigh-in of competitors held

LAST year, hundreds crammed into the 704 Sports Bar for what was the country’s first major Arm Wrestling competition and on Saturday, March 28, it promises to be bigger. With an estimated 60 participants expected to compete in the two categories (over and under 200lb), contestants yesterday converge on Gizmos and Gadgets; one of the sponsors of the event, for the weigh-in.

704 Sports Bar’s Project manager Dustani Barrow said that the support so far is overwhelming, especially from the public.
In an effort to bring awareness to the sport, the organisers, along with their sponsors (Gizmos and Gadgets, E-Networks and Carlsberg Beer), held several outdoor events and made them interactive as persons were allowed to challenge each other in friendly competition while learning the rules and regulations.
The competition will see both male and female participation with the winners pocketing $100 000, second place $75 000 and third place $50 000.
