Berbician gets six months community service, $3,000 fine for cannabis possession

A BERBICIAN was fined $3,000 by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry for the possession of five grammes of marijuana and he was also ordered to do six months community service.Kellon Williams, 20, pleaded guilty to the charge during his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court last Friday.

The court heard that at Lancaster, East Berbice, Corentyne, he had five grammes of marijuana in his possession
Representing the defendant was Attorney-at-Law Jerome Khan who told the court that his client is a miner and works at a camp site.
