DIGICEL Guyana on Thursday presented a brand new washing machine to Allison Norville, who is the winner of their “Make your wish come through” for the New Year via its popular live radio programme titled, “Digicel Morning Vibes.”The company said this is a way of giving back to its loyal customers and the community.
The mother of three, who resides at Lot 69 Middle Road, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, told this publication that she is very happy to be gifted such a needed item, since she had none.
She however expressed gratitude to her daughter, Alancia Scott, who assisted her in participating via the radio show through Digicel’s facebook page and wished that her mother be gifted a washing machine.
Norville, an egg ball vendor in her village, said that she is an avid listener to the “Digicel Morning Vibes” with Digicel brand ambassadors, Curtis “Casual” Armstrong, Michelle “Big Red” King and Selector Dread (Seen Up), whose name is Megus Mc Farlance.
On hand to make the presentation on behalf of Digicel Guyana was Curtis “Casual” Armstrong, a gesture which was very pleasing to Norville and others, who had gathered to witness the event.
She added that when the radio programme was aired live on Old Year’s Day, her daughter’s name was announced as the winner and she was elated.
Norville said: “I asked my daughter to help me go through the process on facebook and she made the wish for me and I told her you will hear our name being called and it did and I was jumping for joy.”
She told the Guyana Chronicle that the washing machine will assist her greatly in her household washing and she will take good care of it to preserve it.
The woman stated that she wanted a washing machine and now that she has one, her daughter will buy her a phone instead, noting that wishes do come true with compliments of Digicel, a network she is a part of.
Also present during the handing-over ceremony was Digicel Communications Manager, Vidya Bijlall-Sanichara. (Michel Outridge)
