BRISBANE, Australia, (CMC) – West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard had a game to forget but Adelaide Strikers still did enough to beat Brisbane Heat by five wickets in the Big Bash League here yesterday.Sent in, Brisbane rattled up 152 for six, with opener Peter Forrest top scoring with 33 from 31 balls and Nathan Reardon getting an unbeaten 31 from 30 balls.
Chris Lyn slammed 28 from 16 deliveries while opener Jimmy Peirson got 27.
Left-armer Craig Simmons snatched two for 26 while seamer Ben Laughlin took two for 31.
Pollard, however, leaked 11 runs from his one over, giving up two boundaries on either side of the wicket to Forrest in the sixth over of the innings.
In reply, Strikers slumped to 63 for four in the tenth over, before Travis Head struck 57 not out off 40 balls in an unbroken 87-run, fifth wicket stand with Alex Ross who scored 36, to steer the visitors to victory with seven balls to spare.
Pollard was the fourth wicket to fall, holing out to long on off left-armer James Hopes in the tenth over, after he had made just six.
The Trinidadian right-hander has managed just 28 runs from three innings in the glitzy Twenty20 tournament.
