Beres Hammond & Virgo to ‘turn up de heat’ in Guyana tonight

THE master of Lovers’ Rock Beres Hammond will be teaming up with upcoming Jamaican Reggae Legend, Romain Virgo tonight at the National Stadium as McNeil Enterprise and Hits and Jams Entertainment stage the much anticipated ‘More Beres-Concert of Love’.

Virgo, who is already in Guyana, exclaimed his delight to be here on his first visit, noting that it’s certainly a wonderful manner in which to start the new year. While he could barely contain his excitement about his intended ‘wildfire performance’, he assured that he would give to Guyana their ‘money’s worth’ and would try to execute one of his better performances.
Citing that his music is rich and impressive, he noted that he loves the reggae music genre; explaining that it was adored by his mom and other relatives, thus fuelling his love to that sound.
He said reggae is definitely the sound that makes positive changes, emphasising that it’s a dream come true to be performing on the stage with veteran reggae legend Beres Hammond.
Virgo is thankful for the support of his many Guyanese fans.
Promoters have promised that Beres Hammond and Virgo will definitely ‘turn up de heat’ at the stadium and give Guyanese a show to remember.
HJTV’s Rawle Ferguson noted that the concert is ‘a gift of love’ to the Guyanese people and would be used as a forum of loving and sharing. He added that its certainly a wonderful way to commence the year 2015, and urged fans to come out in their numbers since the event is geared at satisfying the musical whims of both young and old.
The concert intends to blend the mature sounds of Hammond with contemporary style of Virgo who hails from the Parish of St Ann’s and rose to prominence after winning the Digicel Rising Stars competition in 2007.
Virgo recorded his first hit record ‘Mi Caan Sleep’ on the Penthouse label and several hits followed, including ‘Wanna Go Home’, ‘Live Mi Life’, and ‘Alton’s Medley’. In June 2010, VP Records released his debut album, self-titled Romain Virgo.
While, Virgo would be making his first appearance in Guyana, Hammond is a household name here in the Caribbean, North America and Europe and has wide crossover appeal. Hammond’s hit list stretches for miles and includes `I feel Good’ , `Putting Up Resistance’ , `Rock Away’, `No Disturb Sign’ and many more.
Appearing along the Jamaican duo are local artistes, Mingle Sound Machine, local reggae star, ‘Mystic’ the dancehall diva Jackie Hanover and the Super Ray One Man Band. Over the past two years McNeil Enterprise and Hits and Jams have collaborated to promote some of the best concerts held in Guyana, bringing such artiste as R. Kelly and John Legend.
Tickets have been priced at $3000 (Regular) and $16,000 (Stage Front)
