A 31-year-old fisherman of Lot 7 Block 200 Walton Hall, Essequibo Coast, was on Wednesday last placed on $50,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry for smoking marijuana. 

Terry Anrood pleaded not guilty to the charge that said on November 3 in the North West District, he was caught smoking cannabis-sativa (marijuana).
Police Prosecutor Michael Grant said the facts are as charged and did not oppose bail.
The unrepresented man was granted surety and the case was transferred to the Mabaruma Magistrate Court for November 17.
