We sincerely regret the error in judgment demonstrated by the decision to provide front page and pictorial coverage of a purported sexual act involving two minors. While our intent was not to be unkind or malicious, in hindsight we recognised that our actions may have been more sensational than helpful. We would also like to assure our readers that, while we have erred in this instance, the Guyana Chronicle will continue its efforts to maintain all the basic tenets of professional, responsible journalism, while at the same time providing the Guyanese people both at home and abroad with responsible reportage of news. We sincerely regret any inconvenience or agitation caused to all especially those involved.
