DCB calls up players for senior trials

… Limacol CPL quintet included

THE Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) is calling up players for its senior trials to select a team to represent the County at the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter-County one-day and four-day competitions, set to bowl off soon. There will be two one-day trials today and tomorrow, while a three-day trial will bowl off on Friday August 29 and run until Sunday August 31, with all matches being played at the Camp Road-based Everest Cricket Club ground.
Five of the eight local players, who were a part of the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad for this year’s Limacol Caribbean Premier League – Christopher Barnwell, Leon Johnson, Steven Jacobs, Trevon Griffith and Robin Bacchus – have been included in the list of players.
Also included in the list is List A fast bowler Paul Wintz, national leg-spinner Amir Khan, Mohammed, Antonell Atwell, Andre Stoll, discarded national opener Shemroy Barrington and Kellon Carmichael, who is presently in England on a semi-professional contract.
All players listed below are asked to be at the venue for 09:00hrs today, so that the selectors can decide on a way to form the teams for the respective trial matches.
The players are as follows: Trevon Griffith, Rajendra Chandrika, Leon Johnson, Christopher Barnwell Derwin Christian, Christopher Pattadin, Steven Jacobs, Amir Khan, Totaram Bishun, Trevon Garraway, Randolph Knights, Paul Wintz, Ryan Ramdass, Robin Bacchus, Vishaul Singh, Kellon Carmichael and Zaheer Mohamed.
Some other players called are: Joseph Perry, Gavin Moriah, Shaquille Williams, Shemroy Barrington, Jeetendra Sukdeo, Yatesh Dhanpaul, Andre Stoll, Shivram Persaud, Daniel Seegobin, Irshad Ali, Mark Rhobe, Seon Daniels, Dexter Solomon, Raj Nannan, Sherfane Rutherford, Arvinda Seepersaud, Kamesh Yadram, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Antonell Atwell and Joshua Wade.
