Sanasie says BCB will receive Minutes as requested : -Needs list of delegates, Admin & Financial Reports

DESPITE attending a West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Directors meeting in Antigua, Secretary of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Anand Sanasie via a telephone interview yesterday said the request made by the President of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB), Keith Foster, will be respected and complied with.Last Friday afternoon, in a request to providing his thoughts as it relates to the GCB extending an olive branch to the BCB, having won another court battle two days before, Foster said, “It would be nice if the GCB wishes to extend an olive branch to the BCB, for we are a part of the GCB as Mr. Sanasie rightly said.”
He added, “However, we would like to have made available to us, the Minutes and Financial Statements of the GCB since we have not had any of these documents being forwarded to us under this present regime of the GCB and that is why we have been absenting ourselves from their Ordinary General Meeting (OGM).
“We have welcomed his gesture and the Minutes of the last meeting would be sent to the BCB, despite their President making himself unavailable for meetings that are being held by the executive body of the GCB for the past four years and that is something that needs to be mentioned.
However, in the interest of cricket in Guyana and with a reconciliatory mode, the GCB is prepared to waive the rule, which clearly states that should an executive absent himself/herself from four consecutive meetings of the Board (as he has done), then he is no longer a part of that body, and welcome him back so we can get on with the business of administration of the game,” said Sanasie.
He called on the BCB to forward to the GCB, a list of their delegates who are appointed to attend Ordinary General Meetings (OGM) of the GCB, along with the BCB’s Administrative and Financial Reports.
“We need for the BCB to send to the GCB, their list of delegates so that documents of meetings held can be forwarded to them for their perusal, while I am asking the President of the BCB to make available to the GCB as soon as possible, the Administrative and Financial Reports of the BCB.
Despite many requests being made to the BCB for the submission of these two items, they have continuously failed to adhere to same, but in the spirit of extending the olive branch on behalf of the GCB, minutes of the last OGM will be forwarded to Mr. Foster in his capacity as President of the BCB and a member of the GCB’s Executive Committee,” stated Sanasie.
He said that with the injunction being discharged and questions surrounding the legality of the executive body of the GCB, led by its President Drubahadur after the January 2013 elections, he hopes the BCB can now meet its obligation to the GCB as constituted.
