First Assembly of God Men’s Conference slated for June 10-13

COME this Tuesday, First Assembly of God (FAOG) will commence its Men’s Conference under the theme “Retaking the man’s position of influence”, which will run until Friday 13. The event, which will be held at the FAOG premises on Durban Street, is the second of its kind and one which is highly anticipated by members of the Men’s Fellowship department at the church.
Reflecting on the first conference held last year, Minister Wesley Adams was keen to disclose that it was a “sell out.” As a result of the positive feedback, the team has decided to continue the initiative this year.
The intention shared by members is to address social ills affecting our men in society leading to absenteeism of fathers and a breakdown of family ties and morals, among other ills.
“We are concerned about men and their leadership roles…. A man is seen as the head of a home and God intended men to lead, this is why we want to empower them to fulfill their God given duties,” Asst. Pastor Raphael Jackman said.
The second night (Wednesday, 11) will be a teens night which is open to all young men, particularly teens, focusing on challenges growing up in modern day society. Among the topics up for discussion will be pornography, masturbation, homosexuality, violence, dating and others. Headed by a teen himself, Shaquille Baird, who will be guided and supervised by senior pastors, it is expected to be a reflective and interactive session where young men can voice their opinions and experiences, while in some way administering advice to others.
The other three nights will follow the same model, with sessions by ministers and pastors from the Ministry, and by the highly anticipated speaker and international Third World leader Senior Pastor, Reverend Murtland Raphael Massiah.
The conference closes on Friday with an “outdoor man talk.”
Registration is available online through the church’s Facebook page or forms which can be uplifted at the FAOG office at the church. Registration fee is $1000 which encompasses all three nights (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) with Wednesday evening being free. Schedule time is slated at 6pm sharp, ending at 9pm every night.
The conference is open to men of any age, religion, ethnicity and background.
