THE Progressive Youth Organization (PYO), in a statement yesterday, joined many well-wishers in urging those responsible for the abduction of 234 female students in northern Nigeria on April 14 to release them unharmed, and return them safely to their families, where they rightfully belong. 

And in making clear the body’s condemnation of the actions of the Boko Haram group, the organisation has called on all religious leaders in all places of worship and all religious gathering, as well as the general public to offer a prayer over the weekend for the 234 Nigerian girls.
The PYO noted too that the call for the girls’ return is not simply a call for their return to their families, but their return to the lives they knew, their ability to go to school and be educated, to have “a better future, and to be beautiful, active sister and daughter.”
