Police hunting arsonist after domestic abuse

A MAN is reported to have set a house on fire at Port Kaituma, in North West District, after a series of domestic disputes. The blaze occurred on Sunday night following a quarrel between Eustace Simon and his live-in partner, Evelyn Williams.
Fortunately, neither he, the woman nor her four children were burnt although the one-flat building was virtually destroyed by the 22:30 hrs flames, leaving several persons homeless.
Residents in the area had formed a bucket brigade but did not succeed in putting out the conflagration and Police are still in pursuit of the arsonist.
It was reported that the adult occupant of the premises, Williams, had made several complaints to the Police in the area about domestic abuse at the hands of Simon and he was charged a few weeks ago, with assaulting the woman and granted $40,000 bail.
