LATCHMAN Ramlall called ‘Rapesh’ and ‘Bucta Man’ appeared before Justice William Ramlal and a mixed jury on Wednesday at the start of his murder trial.He is indicted for the unlawful killing of Ramsance Singh on October 22, 2009.
But the case began with a voir dire (trial within a trial), at the instance of State Prosecutor Natasha Backer, in the absence of the jury.
At the end of the smaller trial, the judge will decide whether or not a challenged statement is admissible.
Defence Counsel Keavon Bess is appearing for Ramlal in the continuing case.
