Another appeal to GWI about broken Plaisance main

CONSUMERS on the southern part of Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast of Demerara, have made another appeal for Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI), to fix a broken main that is slowly evolving into a major problem for road users.

The affected area, on the edge of the roadway between the popular Plaisance Guinness Bar and a pharmacy, is overwhelmed with pressurised tap water, which continuously flows from a GWI main that was evidently eroding the route.
Commuters, who have to now use the other section of the road to avoid the sappy conditions created by the broken conduit, are upset that no efforts have been made, to date, to remedy the problem.
Many of the villagers claimed that they have lodged dozens of complains to GWI over the past two weeks and, despite assurances on the telephone, no one came to evaluate or fix the problem.
They are calling on GWI to quickly rectify the situation or for the appropriate ministry to cause those responsible to look into it.
