Old Students Assn. of Richard Ishmael Secondary help school’s library upgrade project, 2013 graduation ceremony

THE Old Students Association of the Indian Education Trust College/Richard Ishmael Secondary School (IETC/RISS) donated to that institution on Monday, November 25, several items, inclusive of more than 200 books, several bookshelves, and a computer. They also gave the library the gift of a new coat of paint as part of its Continuous Update project.Then on Thursday, November 28, the Association donated more than 40 trophies to the school’s Annual Graduation and Prize Giving Ceremony, and gift vouchers were given to those from forms One through Four who placed from first to third in the school’s internal examinations.
Head Mistress of Richard Ishmael Secondary School, Ms. Chandroutie Persaud, told the Guyana Chronicle: “The Old Students Association has always been very supportive of this school, and they always play an active role in all school activities.”
According to the Secretary of the Old Students Association, Ms Fayne Ramsaran-Bhudu, this is the fourth Graduation Ceremony to receive assistance from the Association since its launch and registration in 2010. She added: “The Association plans to implement a sick bay at Richard Ishmael, as well as purchase a photocopy machine for the school.”
Moreover, Ms Ramsaran-Bhudu expressed gratitude of the entire executive committee of the ISTC/RISS Old Students Association to several businesses, including Crown Mining, Hibicus Restaurant and Lounge, Swiss House Cambio, the Trophy Stall, and numerous past students who assisted in making the donations possible.
The ISTC/RISS Old Students Association was registered in 2010 under the initiative of Carl Greene and other past students from the class of 1979.
