Action packed excitement expected tomorrow in COURTS Pee-Wee football c/ships

…Unbeaten St. Pius face West Ruimveldt for top honors
THE BANKS DIH Thirst Park ground is the place to be from 12:00hrs tomorrow, when the curtains come down on the second annual Petra Organization organized COURTS (Guyana) Incorporated sponsored Pee-Wee Under-11 championships, with the grand finale between unbeaten St. Pius and West Ruimveldt.Judging from the performance displayed by both finalists in their semi-final matchups against East La Penitence and Tucville respectively which they both won via penalty kicks, tomorrow’s final should be a mouth-watering encounter.
West Ruimveldt will look to Kyle Moffat, Dasean Blackman, Ryan James, Akil Plass and their prolific scorer so far in this tournament, Michael Oie Jr, to steer them past a confident looking St. Pius lineup, with support from Leandre Gilbert and Ryan James.
However, to say that St. Pius would play possum and hand West Ruimveldt the title on a platter would be an understatement, since they have been undergoing some intense training sessions under the guidance of their Coach, Mark Alleyne, at their adjoining ground.
While giving his instructions and corrections for plays that were faulty during the practice session, Alleyne said, “We have a good chance of winning this tournament, and looking at how West Ruimveldt have played to date, I believe that if we pass the ball around we will be able to create numerous chances for our strikers to score.”
He added, “I am bubbling with confidence and so too are the players and that’s an energy we are looking to take with us Saturday afternoon (tomorrow) and once we stick to the basics and our game plan, then yes, I am positive we will be lifting the trophy at the presentation ceremony.”
The tournament’s ace marksman to date Beveney Mark will lead the West La Penitence based St. Pius challenge, with amicable support from Marcus Wilson, Kamacy Davis, Isaiah Christopher and Raheim Ramsay, players whom Alleyne believes have the capability to see them to the title.
Prior to the playing of the finals, beaten semi-finalists, East La Penitence, and last year’s runners-up, Tucville, will meet in the third-place playoff, with Fabian Boters, Leroy Sealy-Yaw, Andre Hope and Shaquille Burnette leading East LaPenitence against the wiles of Tucville’s DeAndre Linton, Kedar Chester, Raheim Marques and Ronaldo Williams.
Meanwhile, Redeemer and St. Ambrose will kick off the day’s action with their 15 to 16 encounter; Ketley Primary and J. E Burnham will meet in a 13 to 14 clash; dethroned champions, Marian Academy and St. Stephens, will meet in a 11 to 12 fixture; South Ruimveldt and North Georgetown in a 9 to 10; St. Margaret’s and Enterprise in a 7 to 8, before the 5 to 6 clash takes place between F. E Pollard and St. Gabriel’s.
