‘Meet your Match’ invites lonely hearts for a tete-a-tete

DATING services are indeed a rare treat in Guyana, but amongst the few that exist, the ‘Meet your match-Lifelong Partner’ Dating Service is said to be one of the more prosperous, bringing happiness to the lives of many Guyanese.

Over the years, this entity has been bringing romance, love and sensual bliss to the lives of many locals, but many are unaware of the driving force behind its sparkling existence.
There are honey-laced tales of splendid marriages and positive relationships made possible by this entity, but it’s only fair that we tell our readers of the birth of this organisation and its growth over the years.

More popularly known as the Juniors/Seniors/Singles ‘Meet your Match’ Dating Service, this service came into being in September 2003 with the aim of assisting single, widowed or divorced females/males to make friends and engage in lasting relationships.

Open to persons of every religion, profession, and ethnicity, it cannot be regarded as discriminatory; but, as expected, rules apply: Only male to female links are made, and deliberately providing false information to the entity can result in disqualification for clients.

Clients are also required to give notice of intended migration, change of addresses and/or names. Moreover, clients cannot pass information to any third party, since that is prohibited.
Driving force
Powering the existence of this exciting entity is the cheery and very energetic Mrs. Juliet Devers-Chapnanya, a proud mother of four, and mother of popular journalist/cricket commentator Sean Devers.

In 2003, when Mrs Chapnanya retired from an exciting but hectic professional life; her spirited demeanour just would not allow her to sit around reminiscing, like most grown women would. Instead, she was driven to create her dating service, since she felt there was a distinct need for persons to connect through this medium to build lasting unions.

One thing that stands out about this entity is the high level of requests it receives for inter-social relationships, which has resulted in about 70% inter-social marriages so far. In spite of intense competition from other online dating services, Mrs Chapnanya has managed to stay above the raging tides, and today her membership numbers in excess of three thousand clients.

Initially, Mrs. Chapnanya was told that only players and persons looking for sex would join her organization; but she felt otherwise, and naturally she persisted with her intended initiative. “I did not let the blind ramblings of persons get me down. I knew that out there were real persons who were looking for fruitful and fulfilling relationships, so I surged forward to make my dream a reality,” she disclosed.

And while this blessed woman continues to link persons around Guyana, quite a few surprises can come up in the process.
Not so long ago, while in the process of connecting a female with ‘that special mate’, all parties later found out that the woman was linked to her former husband’s brother, whom she had never met during her marriage. Whether she pursued the union or not was not disclosed to us.

Persons join her clientele mainly because they are just out of broken relationships, are lonely, or are simply in a desperate search for ‘Mr. or Miss Right’. And in most cases they eventually find their match.

There are also cases in which some clients join her clientele because they just simply cannot grasp the skills to be outgoing, or are unable to build a good social life.

And in the long run, Mrs Chapnanya beams with satisfaction when prosperous matches are made. “It’s always such a joy to first connect persons; and secondly, to watch that relationship blossom and grow. And it certainly makes me happy when I get reports of lasting unions, broiling romance, or ‘love in any language’ from my clients. It just makes me happy…” she disclosed.

Linking clients is also done on the basis of compatibility, through personality profiles.
She was educated at the Central High School and also possesses a Diploma in Shop Management, Hairdressing and Cosmetology. She has also indulged in the professions of confidential secretary, librarian, and former Girls Guide and volunteer at the Guyana Red Cross Society.

Mrs Chapnanya believes in the joys of love and romance, and as such, her goal is to help individuals find their lifelong partners. She particularly enjoys reading, creative writing, and not so long ago wrote several of her experiences in a literary piece, dubbed ‘My vacation and experiences in Canada’, which she distributed amongst many of her relatives.

She is also the owner and manager of Juliet’s Book Library, and while she enjoys splendid rapport with clients, she is never directly involved in their affairs. Her entity has brought about several marriages.

Waste no more time vainly looking about for that special someone. Call the ‘Meet your Match’ Dating Service on phone numbers 223-8237 or 648-6098 between the hours of 8.30 am and 5 pm. For all you know, love might be just a phone call away.
