If one is to be guided by a recent media report, of the death of a two-year-old child, particularly as it relates to the autopsy findings as to cause of death, then one must conclude that sexual deviancy has neither bounds, nor even conscience as to its victims.

One stands to be corrected, by saying that there have been a number of cases that involve the category that can be described as infant victims of this worse than dark and merciless crime; but never one where death has resulted, based on the post-death findings.
It is the kind of pathologist’s report that inevitably will move even the stony hearted to tears, and every decent human being to great revulsion and unrestrained anger. Such horrific injuries, as is officially certified to have been suffered by the deceased child, could have only resulted in death. What a cruel and heartless end to one so young, whose life could hardly said to have begun!
This is an especially interesting, but sad case, since from all media reports confirmed, the dastardly act appeared to have been committed under an extended family’s roof, with fingers pointing to a very young family member, arrested, but later released on bail pending further investigations. Of course, the matter is reported to be engaging the Director of Public Prosecutions.
It is not the first time, that the supposedly safe sanctuary of the family home has betrayed an unsuspecting member, in this instance – an infant. And sad to say, it will not be the last, as most cases of this act of human degeneracy have been proven to be perpetuated by close family members. And it brings into very sharp focus, again, the question as to where are the nation’s children really safe?
It is a given, that traditionally the home has always been considered to be a safe and sound place for a family member of either sex, with the older members being taught to  watch over and protect the young ones from perceived danger of any type. One will recall those times, when it was traditional for nieces and nephews to be sent to their aunts and uncles; and grandchildren to their grandparents, for their vacations. Young male members took chivalrous pleasure in protecting their young female relatives. But those times of family love and protection and innocence, have greatly changed; and we all know why, based on the moral degeneracy that is evident from the epidemic of sexual abuse on our young children, so common in the daily, social life of the nation. The shocking and shameful aspect of this abysmal slide, is that most of these instances occur within the confines of the family home, and are  known to family members, who for various reasons, either cover-up the dirty treachery, even threatening and inflicting violence on the victim, where young.
Such can only be described as cruel, not only by continuity of the act, but also increasing the psychological and emotional pain of the victim. It begs the question as to how can family profess love, when sexual abuse happens in their home, many times with their connivance? No family, must ignore any such deviant behaviour; act in denial of its existence, nor harbour whoever is guilty of such an abject criminality. Such irresponsibility is definitely abominable, and those guilty ought to attract severe judicial sanction; for they are just as guilty as the offender.
Based on statistics from the Child Care and Protection Agency (CC&PA), the reports of child sexual abuse are increasing daily, and this may just be the tip of the iceberg, since there are many unreported cases.
It follows, therefore, that in families, where such acts do occur, decisive action must now be taken against those members guilty of such lecherous behaviour, by reporting them to the relevant authorities.
It applies to both young and even senior-aged relatives. To explain away, as seem to be the understanding in some families, such action by particularly young males, as hormone-caused, is to encourage the nurturing of a societal monster that will someday become uncontrollable.
Families, in which this beastly act is present, must act now!
