THE Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) Stray Catching Unit conducted stray catching operations on October 17 last on the Essequibo Coast where they found seven goats, eight cows and 10 sheep straying on the public roads.
One goat and two cows were impounded at Suddie Police Station, while six cows, six goats and six sheep were impounded at Anna Regina Police Station. Four sheep were also impounded at Charity Police Station.
Of the eight cows impounded, only two were branded.
Meanwhile, the ministry continues to appeal to cattle owners to ensure that their animals are branded when they are six months old.
This process will facilitate the retrieval of animals when impounded. (Michel Outridge)
