‘I Believe Campaign’ to be launched with massive concert – at Guy Expo 2013

AS GuyExpo nears, the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce is launching an “I Believe Campaign”, aimed at  energising the population in believing in the potential of Guyana  and in building a nationalistic and patriotic environment, an environment in which all of our peoples can embrace the future, the developmental agenda of Guyana and the aspirations of all Guyanese.

According to Tourism , Industry and Commerce Minister, Irfaan Ali, the ‘I Believe Campaign’  is geared a towards promoting and advancing the successes of our economy over the past number of years whilst at the same time encouraging  every facet of society to  believe in  the potential that lies ahead.

“The I Believe Campaign seeks to reach out to every Guyanese beyond political, ethnic and religious barriers, to come on board through educating ourselves, informing ourselves and communicating with each other, the priorities of Guyana, thus , creating an environment of  National Ownership in the transformation  of our country,” Minister Ali stated.
Further , the ‘I Believe Campaign’  will embrace the new developmental ideals in the Amaila Falls Hydro Project,  the state-of-the-art Specialty Hospital , the New Marriott Hotel , brining world class services to Guyana and the new CJIA Expansion, whilst embracing the potential that lies in the accomplishment of these projects .
According to Minister Ali, the ‘I Believe Campaign’ takes a deeper look into the future, in building bridges with our neighbours and benefiting from the potential that exists in their markets; the new deep water harbour and enhanced Demerara port and expansion of our physical infrastructure to meet the needs of our economic and social projections.

He said too that the ‘I Believe Campaign’ seeks to foster a positive environment, through the enforcement of positive lifestyles, innovative thinking and patriotic positioning of our views.
“The ‘I Believe Campaign’ will seek to work with the Small Business Bureau in developing new entrepreneurs, empowering families and integrating  itself within communities, as we seek to involve all strata of our society in the development process of our country,” Minister Ali stated.
He is also of the view that the ‘I Believe Campaign’ will build trust, consolidate and work with other nationalistic campaigns, including the ‘Pick It Up’ campaign, the National Housing Drive , the University of Guyana  and other agencies that seek to promote positive lifestyles and ideals, addressing social ills such as addiction and domestic violence.
“This is a campaign to start believing in ourselves, believing in our country, to encourage us to set aside partisan political views, to separate propaganda and mischief from facts and reality, and to work together as we all believe in the grand future and success of our country,” Ali explained.
The Tourism Industry and Commerce Ministry will also be hosting an ‘I Believe Concert’ to launch the ‘I Believe Campaign’, bringing together local artistes and performers at the National Exhibition Centre, the night of Friday October 4th, 2013.
This massive event will begin at 9:00pm during the second night of GuyExpo 2013 and promises to be filled with vibrant energy and positive messages.
