–for third annual National Drama FestivalTHE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Digicel Guyana, to aid in strengthening of their relationship for the hosting of the National Drama Festival (NDF).
The Festival, now in its third consecutive year, with Digicel Guyana being the major sponsor from the inception, is an initiative to promote local talent and exhibit Guyana’s culture through an art form.
Digicel’s Head of Marketing, Jacqueline James said the company would like to ensure that it gives the ministry the full support needed for the festival, which is all about youth development, culture and showcasing talent.
“The signing of this MoU,” James said, “signifies our strength and our continued commitment to the development of people in this country… we just want to ensure that as we move on each year that we continue to grow this relationship.”
The Festival was launched this year in June, and the preliminaries will begin next month, with the finals being held from November 11-19 at the National Cultural Centre (NCC).
