THE OBSERVER… AMAILA IS NOT DEAD

Hydro power can be described as God-given for any country bold enough to include it in its socio-economic development programme.

There is no doubt that this project will eventually proceed, and that the PPP/C government will ensure that such becomes a reality. And this determination is not born out of a desire for self-glorification. Rather, it is one buttressed out of a vision of seeing this nation become one with its full potential of natural   resources, developed for optimum benefits for the people.

In fact, any government that decides on such a pathway as substitution for its energy supply, is thinking in the right direction of futuristic development with all the benefits of modernisation that will redound to the particular State and people.
Given the scale of the socio-economic development   programmes   that the great visionary Dr. Bharrat  Jagdeo and his administration had implemented, and which is responsible for this nation’s eight consecutive year of sustainable economic growth, it was inevitable that given Guyana’ great water resources, that such a project was only a matter of time.
It is also about ensuring that the government carries out the mandate as stipulated by the people. And this is where the PPP/C government stands unmatched, like a colossus, with its record of making good on its promises, unmatched.
Observer is of the firm view, that even A Partnership For National Unity (APNU) will in the end, support this project, since they fully understand its importance to the future wellbeing of the nation, including its numerous constituents.
Surely, their members of the PNC/R segment will recall the efforts of its former leader that were scuttled for reasons which they may recall.  But it does not mean that because Hydro Power was not realised during the former PNC/R administration that it must not be in the lifetime of the PPP/C administration. Such can only be described as ‘dog in the manger’ politics, more so envious.
No such attitude can be tolerated as far as Guyana’s progress is concerned. At least, not as long as the PPP/C government is mandated to govern in the best interests of the nation.
Under the PPP/C administration, Amaila will rise.
