Passengers were greeted by the warmly smiling faces of the Digicel Girls, who, against a backdrop of African and tassa drumming, served them samplings of good old Guyanese food in the nature of roti and curry and bake and salt fish, plus a generous helping of rum punch and sample bottles of Limacol.
Passengers, in turn, noted that they felt at home, and that the experience of stepping off the plane to receive such a warm welcome was extraordinary.
Digicel Guyana Public Relation Manager,  Ms. Shonnette Moore, speaking with the Guyana Chronicle at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, noted that as a part of the Limacol CPL excitement, the company wanted to gave incoming passengers a Guyanese welcome, so they can feel right at home.

She said the game of cricket always unites the Caribbean, and for Guyana, cricket is a big event that brings all Guyanese together, no matter the race.
She said that Digicel Guyana would definitely be rallying around the Amazon Warriors, so that they can win this year’s tournament.
