TWO construction workers, one charged with unlawful assault to cause actual bodily harm and the other unlawful assault and threatening behaviour, appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday.

Damian McKenzie, 22, of Lot 18 D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to having, on July 18, in D’Urban Backlands, unlawfully assaulted Richard Greene so as to cause him actual bodily harm.
The defendant, who was unrepresented by counsel, told the court that, whenever the virtual complainant drinks, he would always interfere with him but, this time, he threatened to kill him.
Meanwhile, Greene, of Lot 15 D’Urban Backlands, also pleaded not guilty, claiming that was only joking with Mc Kenzie but the latter took a piece of wood and lashed him.
Mc Kenzie was put on $100,000 bail and Greene on $70,000 until they return to court on July 31.
