EVEN the Aracari Resort at Versailles, West Bank Demerara) will not be left out of the Father’s Day festivities. The resort is launching one of the biggest dance competitions ever to hit the Westside. Today, the resort will come alive with fervour and colour as dance groups from Georgetown and the Westside face-off in the 2013 ‘Chutney and Soca Dance Competition’ that would be staged there.

Popular radio host, Malcolm Ferreira would be the MC for the night, and the winning dance group will be featured in soca queen Melissa ‘Vanilla’ Roberts’s upcoming music video.

Each dance group is required to pay a $5000 entrance fee, and win for themselves a whopping $50000 cash prize. The second prize has been set at $30,000 and VIP membership for a month with trophy. The third place winner will take home $20,000, a salon prize, and trophy.
A consolation prize valued at $10,000 will be provided by Renaissance Gems. The event is sponsored by Vedeo’s Variety Store.
