ORWIN Nobrega, of Lot 119 Da Silva Street, Newton, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday, charged with using threatening and abusive language. The 38-year-old horse cart operator pleaded not guilty to both charges, which alleged that, on Sunday, June 9, in Da Silva Street, he threatened to chop Harold Woodman and abused Shellon Woodman.
Police Sergeant Simone Payne, prosecuting, did not object to bail for the defendant but asked that he be put on a bond since he and the virtual complainants are neighbours.
Nobrega was ordered to post $30,000 surety on both charges and bonded to keep the peace, pending the outcome of the cases, which will be called, again, on June 24.
