TOP students of the Grade Six Examination in Region 2, Ashay Narine of Hampton Court Primary, and Arvinda Gamell of Charity Primary, on the Essequibo Coast, said they expected to do well and are very excited upon hearing the results.
Both students, in an interview, said they had put much effort into their studies and took extra lessons from their class teachers in preparation for the examination.
Ashay and Arvina said they are happy and excited to be among the top students of Region 2 and the entire country.
Ashay, who said he studied in the evenings from 19:30 to 21:00hrs, wants to become a mechanical engineer, while Arvinda said he is aiming to become a doctor of medicine.
Ashay’s parents, Jeto Narine and Angalie Persaud, said they are very happy and are proud of their son’s performance at the examination. While Arvina’s mother, Tiranie Gamell, who is a teacher at Charity Secondary, said she is extremely happy upon hearing the good news. She described him as a very dedicated student, with a rounded personality.
Headmistress of the Charity Primary School, Latchminee Singh Mahase, said it is a great accomplishment for the school.
