Princess Hotel opens City Arcade

THE Princess Hotel at Providence, East Bank Demerara yesterday officially opened its brand new, very exquisitely designed game arcade, called “Fun City.”

altIt was part of an opening which he described as an excellent addition to the Princess Hotel.
He explained that children now have a place to come and enjoy games, many of which are not in Guyana.
He noted that the new Princess Movie Theatre, situated not far from the arcade, has been rated among the best so far in Guyana.
And he said he has visited many developed countries, and what persons are seeing at the Fun City Arcade would match and surpass many of the arcades in other countries.
He said he is quite thrilled to see that the arcade comprises a special section containing virtual games. If one has had the experience of going to Disney Land in the United States, one would see persons lining up for an opportunity to altparticipate in such games, but here, Princess Hotel is offering a virtual roller coaster experience in 7D (7 DIMENSION) viewing to the people, with moving seats and 7D glasses for that extra thrill and realistic experience.
The minister asserted his delight that Guyanese are now able to have those experiences right at the magnificent Princess Hotel, with no need to go abroad to have them.

He added that he was informed that the virtual roller coaster ride would be available with different films, so as to provide persons with added excitement and journeys down this very “realistic virtual experience.”
He emphasised that with the very affordable pricing at the arcade, families would be able to come and enjoy themselves and create memories with their children, noting that this is indeed a very positive development for Guyana, as this arcade is the first of its kind here.
altHe concluded that with the excellent management put in by the Princess Hotel team, he is positive that the arcade would go a far way in satisfying the recreational needs of the people, and he is extremely pleased that the hotel’s management feels sufficiently confident to open such an exhilarating entertainment complex. He said that by doing such things, it also shows that they have the right investment spirit to do business in Guyana, and this would help to push the country forward. He said he is encouraging other investors to come forth and give investing in Guyana their best shot.
Meanwhile, Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mr Indranauth Haralsingh, expressed his pleasure at the presence of this arcade in Guyana, and noted that it is a very excellent idea to boost tourism in Guyana, because many complaints come from tourists about their children not having anything to do.alt
He noted that with this “pure fun complex”, children are sure to have a blast, and he is quite impressed with the design and modern equipment available.

He encouraged the opening of more fun arcades across Guyana, to boost both local and international tourism.
Home Affairs Minister, Clement Rohee, who also graced the opening, noted that he is very much impressed with the complex, as it is something many children would consider as a perfect paradise.
Area General Manager (South America) Muharrem Kulekci highlighted that, four years ago, when the Princess Hotel was officially launched in Guyana, the promise was made that it would be one of the best places a visitor would ever have visited. He said that management of the Princess is living up to that, and he is certain that many memories will be made in this game arcade; because it would be an experience that would outmatch any, and persons would always crave more. He said the Princess team is always ready to satisfy the Guyanese nation.
Fun City was designed by Hande Mutlu, a world renowned architect and urban designer.

Mutlu said it was no easy task designing such a unique arcade, and noted that quite a lot of effort went into its success.
She noted that though she had not been physically involved in its building, she still worked very hard in passing instructions and getting things to exactly the right places.
She also said that everything in the arcade, including all equipment, had been imported and is of excellent quality.
