U.S. Ambassador to Guyana, Mr. D. Brent Hardt, on Monday paid a visit to the Food for the Poor (FFTP) Complex in Festival City, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown and had discussions on the organisation’s work in Guyana and support received from US donors and sponsors.
The ambassador was responding to an invitation to visit the Festival City complex and he was accommodated by Mr. Paul Chan-A-Sue and Mr. Kent Vincent, Chairman and Manager respectively of the Non-Governmental Organisation.
He met with the management and staff of the NGO and acquainted himself with its operations during a tour of the various offices and the Distribution Centre.
Mr. Hardt also discussed with the chairman and senior managers the role and nature of the work of FFTP in Guyana, in assisting the poor and needy, some past and present projects and the support received from donors and sponsors in the USA.
The ambassador also viewed a pictorial presentation, display of items currently being distributed and a DVD of the work of FFTP and he expressed his pleasure with the work of the organisation in assisting the poor in Guyana.
In appreciation of his visit, he was presented with a token of appreciation which included additional information on the work of Food for the Poor (Guy) Inc.
