Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee last Friday said that results are available from the polygraph tests which 62 law enforcement ranks underwent and these are with the Defence Board.
The action to be taken subsequently will be announced.
He also announced plans for the future of the security sector in Guyana, and that on December 31, 2012, 40 out of 57 law enforcement officers failed the polygraph tests.
Rohee said: “As regards polygraphing of law enforcement officers, last year 57 ranks were polygraphed for the first time. Of the 57, 40 failed the test.” He stated that in early January 2013, 62 ranks were to be re-examined.
The minister added that directives were given on the course of action to be taken with regard to the results of the 2012 tests which were submitted to the Defence Board.
