Guyana’s football needs the King!

The end of speculations, wondering, street corner meetings, group discussions and all the other activities which go with the election of the (President) ‘the man’ to head the Guyana Football Federation, will definitely come to an end today when the Annual General Meeting is convened.

Who will captain this very important National Ship, Christopher Matthias, Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major, Alfred King or Ivan Persaud?
What is important though is that the historical General Meeting must for the benefit of Football cast their votes without fear or favour, without emotion, without nepotism or any other factor which shows prejudice.
The four contesting candidates are all men of strength in their own ways.  However, only one will come through.  For God’s sake, let us do it right.
All four candidates have faced the electorate with their manifestos and have argued why they should be given the opportunity to take Guyana’s Football to the next level.
It is our opinion that rounded Alfred King who has demonstrated that his ability as an administrator, strategic planner, a tactical organizer, an excellent negotiator among other outstanding qualities stands to bring tremendous benefits to football.
Come tomorrow, let the supreme be separated from those with no distinctive features.
King’s Presidency will ensure unquestionable leadership, healing, success, quality, stability and recognition to Guyana’s Football, a sport of rich history, but which is dying.
Guyana’s football needs the King!
