Guyana impress at National Martial Arts C’Ships in T&T

Students of the Guyana Harpy Eagle Martial Arts Academy put together a terrific performance in the recently concluded National Martial Arts Karate Champions held in Trinidad and Tobago just under a week ago.
The team was led by Sensei Troy Bobb who won Gold in the 35 years-and-over Kata to add to the Grand Champion Kata victory.
Crystal Emanuel who competed in the female 13 – 15 years group took Gold in Sparring, Silver in the Kata and Bronze in the Weapons category.

In the Male 13 – 15 years category, Isaiah Stevenson claimed a Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Sparring, Kata and Weapons categories, respectively.
Zoann Shuman won silver in the female 10 – 12 years Sparring, while Marcus Stevenson won a Silver and Bronze in the Male 8 – 9 years Kata and Sparring, respectively.
Twyle Kirk Shuman won two silver medals in the Male 5 years-and-under Kata and Sparring categories.
Meanwhile, another team is expected to participate in the upcoming NAFMA National Championships on May 24 and 25 in the USA.
