President Ramotar sends sympathy on death of Baroness Thatcher

PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar has extended sympathy to the people and Government of the United Kingdom on the death of former Prime Minister Baroness Margaret Thatcher.

The message, addressed to Prime Minister David Cameron, reads:
Excellency,
It is with profound sadness that I extend, on behalf of the nation of Guyana, our sincere condolences to the Government and the people of the United Kingdom on the passing of Britain’s first female Prime Minister, Baroness Margaret Thatcher, LC, OM PC, FRS.
Mrs. Thatcher has served her country with distinction, dedication and commitment. The impact of her domestic service is renowned as she led Great Britain during her time as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Baroness Thatcher will forever be remembered for her charisma, strength, courage and most importantly, her sterling contributions, not just to her country, but to the international arena.
Please also convey the sympathies of the Government and people of Guyana to her sorrowing relatives.
