PRESIDENTIAL candidate for the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), Jamaica’s Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron, yesterday issued a press release whereby he outlined his intentions for making a difference in the leadership of the gentleman’s game in the Region. Cameron will be facing the incumbent and present president of the WICB Sir Julian Hunte at tomorrow’s election of office-bearers that is scheduled for Barbados and he publicly stated that his campaign has been premised on integrity and fair play.
Below is the full excerpt of Cameron’s release, as issued by the Media department of the WICB:
“Dear Stakeholders,
My campaign for the post of President of the West Indies Cricket Board has been one premised on integrity and fair play. As a member of the cricket industry in this region, I would not support any attempt to bring the sport or its management into disrepute. I therefore wish to assure you, stakeholders, that I am focused on making a difference in leadership.
My team and I are convinced that if given the chance, we will employ the necessary steps to rebuild and re-position cricket as the number one sport in the region. We all must play a part to make this work.
Be accountable!
Dave”
