Six months imprisonment for wounding workmate

ORLANDO Simpson (no address given) was sentenced to six months imprisonment yesterday, on conviction for unlawful wounding.

Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry inflicted the custodial punishment on him after he pleaded guilty to having unlawfully and maliciously wounded Rudolph McKenzie on March 12.
Police Corporal Kerry Bostwick, prosecuting, said the convict and the virtual complainant work at the same place and the latter was speaking to a security guard when the former, who was under the influence of alcohol, approached and told him to go and sleep.
The prosecutor said, after McKenzie ignored the defendant, he became annoyed, picked up a spade and lashed him, causing head injuries.
