POLICE in ‘C’ Division held a ‘Face the Community’ meeting with residents of Bachelors’ Adventure, Paradise and Bare Root at the Paradise Primary School, East Coast Demerara.
The division’s second-in-command, Superintendent Stephen Mansell, and several subordinate officers in charge of police stations met with the residents and raised and dealt with several issues, including increased police patrols, police confidentiality, schools’ road safety patrols, noise nuisance, and the repainting of pedestrian crossings.
The police team responded positively to concerns raised by residents, and assured that those concerns would be addressed. Residents were also urged to form Community Policing Groups (CPGs) in order to assist in the fight against crime.
The Guyana Police Service has been interfacing with residents of various communities in the policing divisions on issues of mutual concern, with the aim of improving police/community relations and enhancing the quality of service it provides.
