TAXI driver Dhanraj Kumar, of Lot 53 Zahora Street, Better Hope, has been charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of David Alphonso Barnett, at La Bonne Intention (LBI) Railway Embankment on February 25, 2013.

The accused appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at Sparendaam Court, also on East Coast Demerara, yesterday, when it was alleged that he drove motor vehicle PLL 3302 in a manner dangerous to the public and caused the demise of Barnett.
Kumar was represented by attorney-at-law, Ms. Gwendolyn Bristol, who requested reasonable bail and the surety was set at $150,000 until March 15.
