WAYNE Griffith, a trader of Lot 110 Tucville, Georgetown, appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, yesterday, charged with larceny from the person. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on February 12, at Stabroek Market, he stole a gold band, valued $94,000, from Chayan Buchoon.
Police Sergeant Kerry Bostwick, prosecuting, said, the defendant, who pulled the jewel off the woman’s hand, has a similar case pending in another Court.
Griffith was remanded to prison until March, 8.
