THERE was a thanksgiving service held on Sunday January 20, 2013 at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church, Charlestown, Georgetown at 04:00 hours to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the Chinese nationals’ arrival in Guyana.
There was almost a packed church comprising members and invitees to mark the occasion.
Conductor Canon George Kanhai, A.A., extended gratitude to their offspring for the contributions they made so long ago to the needs of humanity, including benevolence to the less fortunate. The record to this effect has been very well known and accepted.
Rev. Fr. George A Chuck-a-Song assisted with snacks and refreshments were served by the Kirpatrck family.
