Two charged after separate ganja busts in Berbice

TWO men are in police custody and are expected to be arraigned shortly after two separate cannabis sativa (marijuana)busts in Berbice, police reported.

On Friday police conducted a search on a house at Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice during which four kilogrammes of marijuana were found. A man was arrested and will be charged shortly.
Earlier in the day members of the Berbice Anti-Smuggling Squad (BASS) conducted a search on a man at a boat landing at Number 78 Village, Corentyne, and they reportedly found two kilograms, 960 grams of marijuana in his possession.  He was also arrested and will be charged shortly.
