IT WAS an emotional scene yesterday as the body of 19-year-old commercial sex worker Wesley Holder, also known as “Tiffany”, was open for viewing at the Sandy’s Funeral Home in Georgetown.
The body lay in the funeral parlor from 07:00hrs to 09:00hrs yesterday morning. Viewers included his relatives, friends, and associates. There were also representatives from several interest groups who advocate for the rights of members of the gay community.
One representative of an interest group commented to this publication that they were disappointed that the Wesley lived his life as a woman but was sent off in a man’s clothing. She said that the teen enjoyed dressing with female attire and to bury him in male attire may not have been the best thing to do.
After viewing at the funeral home, the body was taken to Essequibo where the teen was born.
Meanwhile the police are yet to charge anyone with the gruesome murder of the commercial sex worker whose brutalized body was discovered on Friday, January 11, in an empty lot in Werk-En-Rust, a short distance from his home.
On Monday Human Services Minister Jennifer Webster called for a speedy investigation that will bring to justice the persons responsible for the teenager’s death.
Since the gruesome discovery the police have arrested two persons for questioning. One of them was said to be in possession of a knife belonging to the dead youth and which he had in his possession on the night he left home.
