After month old separation… : Man abducts former lover at cutlass point

A WOMAN is counting her lucky stars after she was rescued by the police by a man who abducted her from her home yesterday morning. It was reported that the woman was abducted by a man, who she shared a common-law relationship with for several years. However, that relationship ended in December last year.

The police in the area responded to a call after they were informed that the 32-year old woman was abducted by a man it was later discovered the man was her one time lover with whom an exciting relationship was shared before it got rocky.

The man was then arrested and taken to the Charity Police Station according to reports received.

The woman’s name was not disclosed however her address was given as Queenstown, Essequibo Coast.

The couple’s relationship ended in December after he committed an act of arson which completely destroyed the home in which they shared. He subsequently went into hiding and was always a person of interest for the police.

Yesterday the man armed himself with a chopper and forcibly entered the home which the woman has been living in for the past month and took the woman into the backlands.

The police responded promptly to the abduction report and swooped down into the backlands.

The woman had marks of violence about her body and has been admitted to the Suddie Hospital, while the suspect remains in custody. He is expected to be charged with his arson crime in December as well as the latest crime of yesterday.
