THERE was a fire scare at the Mashramani Secretariat on Middle Street last night when smoke from an electrical wire at the back of the building led to an alarm, with three fire tenders responding . President Donald Ramotar, whose State House residence is around the corner from the secretariat, went to the scene, but left after he was assured by Fire Chief Marlon Gentle that the situation was under control.
