New York-based Pentecostal Church spreads Christmas cheer

CHRISTMAS was made bright for more than 200 underprivileged children drawn from Enmore, Industry and Lowlands, East Coast Demerara, thanks to civic-minded overseas-based Guyanese, wishing to share some of the joys that abound in their lives.

altThe sponsors are all members of the Bible Fellowship Pentecostal Assembly of New York Inc.
On Sunday December, 22 more than 150 children came together at the Enmore Baptist Church for a fun time, at a party sponsored by the Khan Family, formerly of Golden Grove and Golden Grove Baptist Church. The sponsors are: Kamal, Linda, Richard, Peter and Lawrence Khan. Also partnering in sponsorship was Juliana Bassoo, formerly of Cove and John.  Bassoo was also an old student of Annandale Secondary, and teacher of Christ Church Secondary School.
On Saturday December 21, 2012 a party was also held for 25 orphans at ‘Bless the Children’s Home’ at Industry, also on the East Coast Demerara. It was sponsored by Sister Benedicta De Souza and her daughter, Sister Louella Desouza of Bible Fellowship Pentecostal Assembly of New York Inc.
Meanwhile, the children of Lowlands Church, East Coast Demerrara, also had their share of cheer and goodies, compliments of the De Souza duo, who provided cakes for that occasion.
All three parties were organised by the local Projects Co-ordinator for Bible Fellowship Pentecostal Assembly of New York Inc., Sister Esther Latchmin of Enmore, Guyana.
Latchman, on behalf of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the sponsors for their acts of kindness, which saw hundreds being able to share in the joys of Christmas, like every child should.
