Twenty-one year old motor cyclist dies in freak accident

TWENTY-ONE year old  Sherdelle Rasheesh Tim, who was riding a borrowed motorbike, would not be around to celebrate Christmas, as his life was snuffed out after he collided with a pedestrian on the crowd infested Main Street thoroughfare in  New Amsterdam at about 23:00 hrs on Saturday night. The youth, a mechanic, of South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown and formerly of Lot 54, Stanleytown in the Berbice Township, was earlier seen leaving the eastern half of Pope Street, before riding north and thereafter was retracing his pathway when moments later a collision was heard.
Eyewitnesses said there was a Bar- B- Que and Lime [party] resulting in congestion at Main and Lad Lane. In addition, there were last minute shoppers for the festive season, which also contributed to the congestion on the roadway.
According to a vendor who was plying his trade along the roadway, the youthful motorist had his helmet in his hand while he was throttling the motorbike in an effort to pass through the crowd.
The motorbike, witnesses said propelled forward and its rider apparently lost control, resulting in a collision with Martin Luther Scheme resident Bryan Cummings called ‘Plastic’ who is currently a patient at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
Following the collision Tim, propelled upwards, before landing in front of the wheel of a mini bus which was approaching from the opposite direction. It is suspected that his death was instant.
This reporter was told, that the Dee Jay who was playing the music at the Bar-B-Que, had earlier warned the expanding crowd at Main and Lad Lane, to desist from going into the pathway of vehicular traffic.
As a matter of fact, the Disc Jockey had initially thought that it was a fight that had broken out, and had issued yet another warning for persons to desist from using violence, but seconds after learning what had transpired, he turned the music off.  
Meanwhile, the deceased mother Evette, who travelled from the capital city on hearing of the death of her second child, said, the death of her child has not impacted her as yet, however she will always have in her memory his infectious smile. “No matter how I scold him, he would just smile.”
The deceased friends on facebook social network have expressed shock at his passing ‘gone too soon’ some were quoted as saying.
 Tim leaves to mourn his parents and siblings Abigail and Steve amongst other relatives.
