He is also urging more of the unemployed to seek the services of the CRMA.
He recently disclosed: “We have been able to place a few thousands in jobs this year and next year we are hoping to do the same…we want all the skills we can have to harness the resources of this country.”
The CRMA formerly known as the Employment Exchange was established in 1944 for the purpose of collecting and furnishing information to employers who wish to recruit workers and persons who are seeking employment.
The CRMA seeks to place individuals seeking jobs in suitable employment and provide career guidance and counseling through registration of all unemployed persons, maintenance of a record of notified vacancies, matching jobseekers with vacancies and arranging interviews, placement of unemployed persons for gainful employment and providing all of the above services with respect to seamen.
The service offered by this division, caters for both Juveniles and Adults
In November 2010, the CRMA made its services available online through a public/ private sector modernization and e-governance program that allows persons with access to the internet to make submissions if they are seeking employment from anywhere in the country.
Similarly, employers can access the services of the agency by posting their vacancies online.
Active jobseekers and employers can log onto the CRMA website (http://www.crma-gy.com/) and register as a member.
After registration, an employer can publish information on the website about the vacancy available.
This is publication is noted and staffers make telephone contact with the employer to certify the details for the vacancy.
They then select a job seeker to fill the vacancy.
The Ministry also caters for those persons who do not have access to the internet by partnering with the Regional Administrations in providing hard copies of the application forms.
