Wife assaulted by husband found bedding neighbour

AN MMC Security Services supervisor was bonded to keep the peace, last Friday, when he appeared at Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, charged with assault.
Particulars of the offence said Brian Ferreira, on Thursday, November 29; assaulted his common-law wife, Audrey Bobb.

In his defence, he told Magistrate Alex Moore that he was provoked into assaulting the mother of three, as she would, habitually, accuse him of infidelity and, as a result of frustration, he struck her.
However, the virtual complainant, who was present in court, said she had only given birth to her third child months previously and, since then, all hell broke loose in her home.
She claimed she had endured too many occurrences of unfaithfulness in her five-year relationship with Ferreira and their union took a turn for the worse when he started a triangular affair with her best friend, who is also her immediate neighbour.
Bobb said her suspicions was aroused because she would often come home to find her neighbour in the house with Ferreira and it led to many fights between herself and the other woman.
Bobb related that, recently, she arrived home to; again, discover her friend in her bed and that incident caused her husband to beat her.
In tears, she begged the magistrate to make her husband stay far away from her, because of the unsavory chronicle of events she has suffered.
Asked by Magistrate Moore if what was being related by the mother of his children is true, Ferreira smiled and responded that she always accuses him.
Bobb, however, declined to offer any evidence against her husband and requested the court to help her remove the rest of her belongings as she and her children have already moved out of the home.
Magistrate Moore issued a stern warning to the 40-year-old Ferreira, put him on a bond and recommended that the couple seeks counseling.
