Samaroo murder trial begins today with legal arguments

HIGH Court Justice James Bovell-Drakes returns to the Criminal Court today after a period of leave, and will preside over the case in which Harry Samaroo is accused of having murdered Kamal Doonwah on October 28, 2007 at Bladen Hall, East Coast, Demerara.

altDefence counsel Mr. Jailall Kissoon, associated with Mr.Sandel Kissoon, indicated that the defence would be pursuing a complaint that the indictment is faulty, and they would, as such, be taking a point in limine to have the indictment quashed.
Mrs. James-Lake is prosecuting.
